Exhib. “German Printmaking…” nr 9. Good impressions irregularly trimmed at the subject, of the only state (?). The engraved subjects seem just about complete but the margins of platemarks were trimmed; laid down. Complete set.
Van den Noort nr E.132 (II/II). Very good impression on laid paper, published in the “Société des Aquafortistes” during 1864. Some creases mostly soft and mostly marginal; slight stains on the edges of margins. Wide margins.
Hollstein nr 23. Good impression trimmed at the subject, d’un édition indéterminée but very certainly of XVIth century. Angle supérieur gauche anciennement restauré; small hole restauré près du bord droit; six wormholes; rests of glue and of mounting paper on the back; other smamll defects. Last plate to a set of quatorze illustrant la “Passion”.
New Hollstein (van Dyck) nr 69. Very good impression of the last state. Slight marginal oxidation. Wide margins. Edition about 1720. Pieter de Jode holds in his left hand a sheet of paper and the engraver’s tools as well as a platemark are placed on the table.
New Hollstein nr 282 (II/II). Good impression of 2nd state (of two). Significant vertical tear restored about 40mm at top; small marginal lacq restaured at top and in the upper right corner; some small thin paper areas. Thread margins. Edition ogf XVIIIth century.
Good impression on wove paper printed in black and red chalk at the location. Some rare foxings, mostly visible on the back; some small snags on the subject, one causing a tiny hole; slight small break at center. Good margins.
