Emma LOWSTADT-CHADWICK – Prince Karageorgevitch, ca 1900

1855 Stockholm + 1932 Avignon
Original etching

Dimension: 147 (190) mm x 102 (135) mm

Very good impression on old laid paper, signed with other inscriptions at foot by another hand. A few handling creases and dusty (?) on the back. Small margins. Prince Karageorgevich (1862–1908) belonged to a Serbian dynasty. His family lost the Serbian throne in 1858 and sought refuge in France. There, Bojidar pursued a variety of activities as an artist, translator, soldier, and traveler. He formed close friendships with Sarah Bernhardt, Loïe Fuller, Toulouse-Lautrec, and Diaghilev.
